An Introduction To The Ron Manning Centre

Hello, my name is Christine Slater I am the manager at the Ron Manning Centre, Higham Ferrers. I would like to let everyone know what is available at our centre. On Mondays and Fridays we hold a disabled club where most of our clients are wheelchair users. We offer them exercise, motivate them to do puzzles, quizzes and floor games such as skittles.

On Tuesdays and Thursdays the centre hosts a social group for more active clients. On offer is hand waxing and nail care. Bingo, quizzes or floor games are also enjoyed. Occasionally we have speakers who talk on a variety of interesting subjects.

Wednesday is our craft class. We have an excellent craft teacher in Linda Norris and two very good volunteers, Beryl Spencer and Eva Wetherall. We have an annual Christmas sale of all of the wonderful items that have been made throughout the year.

We have a medi-bath available to those who feel they need some assistance with experienced carer to help.

A day at our centre will cost £3.00, which covers all the activities, a bath if required and a hot cooked meal with dessert. If you do not have transport don’t worry. Register with our transport department and we can provide a door to door service from just £2.20 return.

A warm welcome awaits clients from everyone at the Ron Manning Centre.
